    Idle ....again...

    OK.
    What does it mean when...
idle is not stabilizing after neutralwhen reaching a stop light/sign etc,and instead of nicely reducing to the 800rpm,it goes below, jumps up then tries to relax on the 800rpm?

Last time it did that,my RS2 didnt like the sport filter KN at all! changed to OEM and everything went back to normal.

now lambda is new,MAF seems ok (no shutter at high rpm boost is good),...

could it be from bad fuel?

IM realising that there has got to be something wrong with the mixture...also im getting really HIGH consuption, but the lambda is brand new!!!!

    what could it be???

    Also ISV is cleaned...AGAIN!

I have just fixed this problem and it was a boost leak on the smaco that feeds to the inlet mainfold. HTH

      Could be idle stabilisation vave?
I had a hunting idle and cleaned mine carefully with IPA and it sorted the problem.
Search the forum for ISV or idle stabilisation valve and there will be more on it

Take out the maf sensor and spray the gauze and crossed wires with carb cleaner also check the vacuum pipes.

I had a similar problem with my car and this cured all of the symptoms. As a after thought check for oil round your spark plugs you might need to replace the rocker cover.

rocker cover has been replaced recently as well as all metal and elastic covers actually.Apparently i replaced my MAF with a used one from S4 without the nets, and now the idle seems to have come back to normal! i assume that my maf has troubles...
does anyone know for sure if the RS2 maf has anything better to offer than the S2/S4 maf?
