    Yet another radiator plea

Got my leaking main radiator out yesterday. Thankfully haven't got air-con so it's was a fairly straight forward job thanks to the forum

However, here's my current problem. GSF have only got Nissens in stock and have searched all other branches including the birmingham main store. I know James had a similar problem last month but they assure me that no one stocks Behr's anymore.

I've called a very helpful radiator specialist who have told me that if it's a copper and brass radiator that they can rebuild me a new core and tell me that it will be a much better standard than a new one

What are people's views on this? I'm going after work to take the radiator to be pressure tested.

As always, thanks in advance and good to have this place up and running again.

I would not worry too much mate.
A few on here have still used the nissan one and been happy with it. Plus check what warranty it comes with?

otherwise you could always try EuroCarParts for the Behr one.

GSF no longer f have stock othe Behr rad as the Nissen rad is cheaper and has a greater profit margin on them therefore they will not order anymore into stock until the Nissen stock has depleted some what.

Yeh James you did, the Nissens and Behr rads are both made at the same factory in china it's hard to believe the quality difference!

Read too many bad things about Nissens on here to risk it (although it disn't take too long to remove the radiator it's not something I want to do again in a hurry).

I know there are people who have had no probs with them but I went along to this proper back street garage this afternoon rad in hand.
Pressure tested it and we lost count at how many leaks there were!!

Anyway, all they do there is radiators and he showed me some examples of their work which impressed me. He's gonna sort me out with a new core as the top and bottom are fine.

Having the radiator out is a good opportunity to check a few other things. Apart from thermostat and the odd hose check is there anything else I should do whilst I'm in there??
