    Main Radiator Cowling

    Evening,

After an unsuccesful search for a Behr main radiator I opted to get it re-cored. Quite pleased with the standard of work (although the copper/brass core is considerably heavier) so fingers crossed it will be a more than adequate replacement.

I'll keep this thread updated with any issues as if radiators become more and more scarce then re-coring may be the only option for some poeple.

    Quick question:

Due to my own stupidity I left the bottom cowling on the main radiator on and forgot to ask the radiator chap for it back!

Anyway, obviously I'll give him a call tomorrow but the liklihood of him still having it is pretty slim. Anyone know if these are available from anywhere? Or anyone got one spare?

Also, I will have an expansion tank available this weekend that is in perfect working order. Free to anyone who wants to pay for postage.

    Thanks in advance.

VAGparts can you usually source that type of thing Dan, and it might not be as expensive as you would imagine. (Famous last words! )

    Cheers,

Luckily the chap who built my radiator had the cowling (it was quite funny hearing him swearing at the chap who was meant to put it on the new one).

Just bought a new expansion tank so like I say, the old one is available for free.
