Weird turbo sound - help (with .mp3).

Check out this .mp3 file. I recorded it today. Anyone have any idea what this can be? The turbo hits full boost @ 4500 compared to 3500 like before. This started a couple of days ago. It's an Audi 100 Quattro Turbo with an S2 engine (3b) - lots of mods (400HP).

The sounds starts right when the turbo goes into positive boost.

You can hear it @ 2 seconds and out before the engine sound covers it up, and @ 7 seconds when I let off the throttle.

hmm hard to say.. i had a simular sound on one s4 and then it was the impellers that was damaged. if you are talking about the wining sound

ohh ****. My impeller on the exhaust side is damaged Only 50% left of one of the blades. Do I need a new turbo or can I send in my old one to get it fixed?

It's the sound that starts @ 2 seconds (houling sound) and you can hear it @ 7 seconds when I let off.

Did you also get this sound when you let off the throttle?

depends to who you send it to some replaces the impeler and balance it if you have bad luck you have to replace the compleare bering house with axel. I think you shuld not drive with it if its broken the axel can snap and then you might have a biger issue. If you drive with it dont boost. you shuld also check youre map when you get it bac you have probably runned with high exhaust temp. on my it was on the compressor side.
