Rubber Electrical Boots in Engine Bay

    Hey guys,
There are a couple of the rubber boots in my engine bay that are in pretty poor shape. Anyone know if they are available from anywhere?
I'm getting quite paranoid about the wires being damaged underneath.
Tried loading pics but not working.
Worst ones are the ones covering the injector cables and the larger one that plugs in vertically behind the ISV.

    Thanks

    Dan

Sorry to state the obvious, but have you had a chat with Martyn at VAGparts.com that has got to be the first port of call.

      Cheers,

      Steve.

Ignor the colour, i can get in black.
Its got a high temp rating and is oil and chemical resistant and its got a life span that will out live the next 2 or 3 generations.
Sorry i couldnt take any engine bay pics but its dark as......

Err.. How about getting them from your local Stealer?

I had to change a few many years ago. The plugs themselves were in bad shape too, the car ran much better after they were changed.

                  See this post.

                    Cheers Stu, ideal.
I've got some phone calls to make tomorrow then.

Need to replace one of the spark plug boots plus the vertical plug behind the ISV plus the two flexible peices of rubber on the bulkhead.

If you could get a picture up that would help. The four plugs near the bulkhead (for the knock sensors, etc) use the same parts as the injectors IIRC. I'm not sure what else you've got there on an ABY. Power Output Stages?
Like most parts the part numbers are normally there, if they haven't been erroded or corroded.

Ah yes. The 4 pin connector on the throttle potentiometer.
                          I think you’ll need the grommet/boot P/N 853 945 521, and the plug 4A0 906 234.
The plastic inside the plugs tends to get very brittle, so I'd recommend getting those if you're dismantling the plugs to change the boots.

I'm starting to agree with this statement. I ordered the things I needed from Plymouth Audi this morning but looking through the engine bay it seriously looks like some peice of vermin has had a good nibble

Anyway for reference the part numbers I found are as follows:

                              Throttle potentiometer cover 4A0 906 102
                              Fuel Injector Cover 443 906 102 6
The other boot I ordered was for the two plugs pointed in the picture in #12 above as it p/n 443 906 102 F

All came to about £12 for one of each
