Strange AAN head

Hi!

Yesterday i got strange s4 head. Head is without any cracks, but it look quite strange (see the marked area in the picture!!)



Is it possible that head was allready repaired? The car was runing as it should with this head!

Im not sure about the ringed area on the right..a close up would be good. The centre ringed area does look like its been polished maybe after some welding/grinding.. can you do close ups? and post a pic of all the cylinders to compare against?

my head has some cracks which actually run quite deep.they are only lines but not actual carcks that need grinding and welding.however the car runs nicely.

I think valjo has cleaned the plug areas just to find out if cracks are present.

The right side seems strange. Someone has definately been there before, but why..

Flow prepping usually includes grinding a bit around the exhaust valves, but definately not there.

yep i cleaned it to find out if there is any cracks (i am selling this head so i want to find out if head is ok)......because head was runing before and there was alot steam and so....
the right side is quite strange yes...
