Oil pump replacement after engine failure?

looking for info and opinions on replacing oil pump after rod failure.
Had a look through workshop manual and it mentions cleaning oil passages and replacing oil cooler but didint see any information on oil pump.

    Thanks
    Steve

There aren't really the same inaccessible particle traps/crevices/passages inside an oil pump so a dismantle and a good clean will deal with anything stuck in there. I guess while it is apart check for serious looking scoring that may have been caused by bits of con rod passing through.

Press a new seal in before putting it back on, the seals don't seem to like being re used even if they are only a couple of years old...

Agree with above.if there is no visual defects I would clean it and put it back together.once it's fitted I would turn the engine over with no plugs and see how much pressure it's building before you start the engine.
that would be mine plan of action .As fare as I know them pumps should be preety robust units .
