    Gurdle mains tourque settings

    Hi gents
Bought a gurdle and the mains have 12.9 bolts
I have read that people are tourquing them 1/4 turn over stock
Is this right as seller is specifing std tourque?
Also do the main caps need grinding down to seat?

    Cheers

You should be supplied with shims which will need machining down.

Yes I do have the shims and all the bolts to extend. Just no details with it what so ever.

This is not an simple job to fit correctly, caps need machining, block flange needs skimming parallel with crank axis, spacers need grinding to size. Ideally the girdle plate should be ground flat too. You can’t just bolt it on

I agree. You need to be running some serious power before a girdle becomes necessary. Some "experts" will advise it so you keep them nice & busy
