RS4 Intercoolers

Hey guys

I have been thinking.

Just one for the standard boys. Has anyone ever thought of fitting a Nissan 300ZX intercooler to the S2 so that it can be used to cool the air going across the engine in both direrctions????

Next one.

For the revers manifold guys.

Has anyone thought of fitting the two RS4 intercoolers in sequence along the fron of the car and one infront of the rad????

Why on earth would you want three intercoolers mate??! (or even two)
The pressure drop would be crazy

Much better solution IMHO to fit one single ebay style intercooler and modify around that

or get a custom shaped one. They are simple to make and not very expensive even as totally custom items. Around £250-£300 I was told by someone I know who had a custom IC made up.

There are IC's and IC's. Diferent designs and more importantly core temperatures differ a great deal. You pay for what you get!

you got your beast back yet? Was wondering about this the other day, my mates skyline is totally up and running, and **** me....!!!!!!! (quick ball park figure, rolling 30 to 130 mph less than 11 seconds....not being brutal on gear change either)
Anyway, would be nice to see the 90 some time.

No it's a good suggestion IMO

2 IC can be better than a single due to less resistance in air flow across two smaller IC rather than one big whopping one. The trick is not to use too small an twin IC!

I'm not a believer of big is better with IC, IC efficiency is more important and you can go too big IMO.

The problem is pipe work, if going to a reverse IM your aim is to reduce the pipe work length but by going 2 you negate the reduction so i wouldn't consider it.

Now if you were talking about a charge cooler.............

What I was thinking was to have one front mounted and then the other infront of the rad so it is keeping piping to the minimum.

Basically on where the stock one is then the other upright in fron the the rad so that the exit is straight to the throttle body housing. if you get what I mean

nah, no good heat from radiator will cancel out any cooling that it will do
