  • Fuel catch tank vs intank fuel pump

    Hi Guys
What are your experience when it comes to catch tanks for fuel and intank fuel pump ?
I will not drive around track. The car is for driving at streets.
The fuel catch tank is to be sure that the engine always get fuel and not air.
In the the ordinary fuel tank when the gforces set in the fuel moves around a lot and if you have lets say 20 litres of fuel it will maybe be a problem.
When i look down in the tank i see that there are differnt of plastic holders etc. Do the prevent the fuel to move around to much ?
Have somebody tested in tank fuel pump and no catchtank and it worked well ?

Please would be great with anwers from someone with facts , not what should work or somebody mavbe thinks works

I would install a fuel pressure sensor to se if it drops on street driving.

On the street, at virtually any power level, I doubt you will see any starvation from excessive g force

On the track is a different matter....
Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...
'03 ZX12-R daily hack.... lots of nice bolt ons...

The thing is i dont want to re modify when built. That why im asking.
Have anyone have a fuelpump in tank with about 600hp that works without surge/pulling air ?

I have a BMW turbo .. nothing special .. turbo.
I needed a catch tank for it or 25 liters of fuel.
But that was with a old style gas tank.

Yes .. the bmw was a street car but needed a catch tank .. about 400hp.
You recommendtion was as a street driving S2 probably not needed.
The BMW was a street driven car though.

The difference woill be more tourque on audi s2 but different style tanks.
WOuld be great with info if omebody with about 600 hp tested with intank fuel pump.
                    Otherwise i will be first
