  • S6 cranking but won't start

    Hi guys,

I've got a 1997 S6 motorsport that just won't start. Timing is correct, I'm getting fuel and spark too.
I;ve cleaned the ground wires at both doors, intake manifold, engine earth strap and battery connection.
When I read the fault codes I keep getting a 65535 code.
    Please help
    Thanks

Is your battery fully charged? If not it maybe not cranking over the engine fast enough which also throws out G28.Check your cranking fast enough?

Next i would check the G70 sensor( Maf ) and unplug it and look at the connections (to check if they look clean) and replug back and try again. These ordinarily don't cause problems with non starting but it has been known so check it if i were you.Crank her over and see if she responds........?

    Hth.

S6 needs a strong battery to start. I've had my s6 fail to start (Just turns over), put battery on my s2 and it fires up no problem.

Dead sensor on the cam pulley caused the same symptoms on my S2

check if you get fuel at the injectors, you will get fuel in the rail with a broken g40, but the injectors will not fire, check that first

Got it sorted, was a combination of faulty plugs, coil harness not always making contact, 2 faulty coils and a dead MAF.
Does anyone have a spare RS2 MAF they wanna sell?
