Aby S2 Missing And Where Are The Plugs?

After Some Advice For The Aby S2, It Has Developed A Slight Miss , I Was Going To Change The Plugs, But How Do You Get To The? And Also Does Anyone Else Know Of Other Common Problems That Can Cause A Slight Missing.

    Any Help Would Be Great

    Cheers

First thing....TURN YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF!!!

To get to plugs remove the plastic cover at the top of the engine (2 screw fasteners), prise it off...and voila....you will be able to see the plugs at the bottom of their chambers.
I would think you should test all the coils as this could be your problem "possibly"
if you can identify which cylinder is missing. Swap a coil from a known good cylinder to the bad one...and bingo,...your dodgy coil will be ID's when the mis swaps to another cylinder.. hth

Ain't no shoddy plastic cover on the ABY you know !

The ABY has an alloy top cover on the cylinder head which is held on by 2 or 3 hex fasteners.

The plugs could be loose - very common.
Also suggest you check earth strap on rear of cylinder head.
COuld be a faulty coilpack or POS unit - they can be juggled and rewired to make use of a spare circuit if you aren't afraid of working from a schematic !

Mawds, to get to the spark plugs you need to remove the 3 bolts holding the '20v turbo' cover on and also the throttle damper.

the whole part will lift out which has the coils attached. Then with a long spark plug wrench, (there is one in the factory tool kit).

The spark plugs can be removed.

When does it miss? check the coil leads and the cables to the coils under the cover when you take it out too
