    Cambelt Tension

As the front of my car is pretty much all over the garage I decided to check the condition of the cambelt as it's something that I haven't properly checked since I bought the car.
Belt looks good and all pulleys look fine. However, the tension in the belt, particularly between the water pump and the cam pulley is pretty slack. I'm assumining that the water pump is used to tension the belt, should I just tension it up using that and how tight should it be?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Dan

You should be able to turn the belt 90° between those points, no more, no less.
The torque setting of your fingers isn't specified though.
