  • RS2 Spark Plug Reccomendations?

What is the correct Audi RS2 spark plug to use? Was it NGK from the factory?

  • #2
Bosch F5DP0R is the oem spark plug, but it is not cheap if available at all. I have ngk bkr7eix in my chipped aby and works fine.

Do you have to adjust the gap on the ngk?

I just put them on without even checking the gap. Some people seem to adjust them to 0.6mm. If you are running high hp, gapping the plugs is propably a good idea. The stock gap on BKR7EIX is 0.7mm from memory.

Also if running a high boost/hp engine, I would consider a colder thermal value of the plug.

So with a basic chip setup default would be fine? Any drawbacks from smaller gap? Cold start?

I would say that in an engine which has only been through minor changes, the BKR7EIX would be fine without gapping. I don't really know about the drawbacks of too small gap. Someone with more experience in spark plugs might be able to help.

NGK is not the only option though. There was discussion on spark plugs on the S2forum facebook recently.

I had issues with a set of NGK that weren't gapped. Replaced with a set gapped to 0.6mm and they have been faultless.
