    Oil retention valve

    Oil retention valve P/N 077 103 175 B

Is located behind the lower oil pressure sending unit... I didn’t know that this even existed until it was too late. I had the block shot peened during my rebuild and the 12pt head of this aluminum piece was F-d up so I couldn't remove this valve. I spent 12 hours from 2 days drilling and taping this out

I am posting this so people will be aware of it in the future.

Sounds like a right nightmare I was a little surprised too when i found it in my engine block, hadn’t a clue what it was until i looked at etka. I've since heard of people accidently crushing it when installing arp crank studs too, so watch out for that.
