We have made an enhancement so that old threads should now link from search results to the correct thread. This is not yet in place for single post links
After trolling through various threads (which date back 10yrs +) i can't seem to decide on which oil and filter people use now? Oil filter part number and supplier would be very helpful too if poss.
Oil is such a minefield as there are so many manufacturers out there.

Mann or oe filter and Fuchs titan race pro 5w40. I've been using Fuchs oil in my cars for over ten years now with no issues.
Opie oils are good but not the cheapest.
I don't think China have started to counterfeit oil (yet)

Best get your oil from a recognised dealer then. The Fuchs oil has quite a distinctive smell. I think I would recognise a fake but then again not everyone has a nose as big as mine
