    Starter Motor Advice

    Hi all

The braded wire conection between the starter motor and the solinoid has rusted away , so im looking to replace, all seemed well with the starter b4 so may ttry just replacing the cable

PSH biedt een wijdt assortiment van starters en alternators. Met meer dan 12.000 types van starter motors en alternators.

This looks like the correct part and @ £20 including delivery should solve my problem.

However the base of the starter will have to be removed and b4 starting i though i would ask fo BTDT advive

What i need to know is :-

how do you get the base off the starter motor ??

There are two screws, but i bet they will round long b4 they will move,

alternative would be an exchange unit from bosch 0001 108 101 but seems a lot for one wire

thats what i ended up doing George as I couldn't locate a spare wire anywhere. I figured that I might as well just refresh everything in one go.

      Good luck

        Update

Dremelled the two retaining screws and managed to strip down the main body,
Internally all looks in really good condition, and simple to re-constuct, so im going to order the part above as visually it looks identical, will need to replace the screws but im confident of a fairly cheap fix.

Update all as the part arrives.

            What Lubricant ??

New part has arrive and will be rebuilding the motor this evening,

I have cleaned the parts down with brake cleaner and gently rubbed down the commutator so the brass sections are clean and bright.

Ready to reasemble but need to know where and with what i should lubricate ???
