So I removed my distributor from my CQ 20v and found a big crack in the plastic drive gear.
I ordered what looks like a brass gear but a steel gear arrived. Is this OK or do I send it back?
Thoughts please!

There were factory steel gears I think, i certainly have one on a spare i have! Im sure it would be fine, i think i read somewhere the plastic gear was intended to reduce noise so, you might expect a slight increase with a metal one.
I got a brass gear years and years ago and that was worryingly VERY noisy to start but within a few hours of running had bedded in and done well over 100k miles now.
