    Cams for 2.5-2.7l diesel stroker

As the topic says, what cams would be best for a diesel block stroker? Going for 550-700hp with a precision 5862.

Would 7A work well or would it be better to go in the custom catcams direction?

Fresh build, the bottom end is finished with JE pistons and rods, girdle, drysump, lightened flywheel with 60-2 trigger etc. Looks like a piece of art?

Now looking for a 7A head to convert and finish the build. Hence the inquiry about the cams,so i know if i should try to find a complete 7A head with cams.

What dry sump system are you using? On your 2.5 stroker. I was told to use 2x7a ex cams can’t remember exact details sorry long time ago it was will at vrs Northampton U.K.

Auto verdi pump with custom sump!
Looks like catcams are the way to go to match the bigger displacement, now is just the question if i should go mechanical or hydraulic head. Higher revs with the mechanical could be nice, but what are the disadvantages?

Have you rerouted your head oil supply? Or is it original? Catcams is nice, they onlt make billet now so its good choice. But im thinking that does that 5862 do anythings lets say at 8000rmp? Im thinking that go with sports or the next level over them and stay hydraulic.

I’m using a weaver brothers with custom Volvo sump also I’ll be using catcams
As I’ll be revving it high to make power with solid lifters not hydraulic lifters because the turbo choice I’ve chosen to go.
