    Block bore size?

    Hi

I' m asking for my friend.

He' s building he' s 3b engine. He got motor with broken block, and now got "new" used one. We measured block. Down block it was 81,01-81,02, at the top 81,09. Is this too worn? He' s going to put new piston rings anyway, but is 81,09 to worn or not?

    What Do You think?

    regards,
    Marek

no its, not worn out, but have you honed it yet DO NOT use the flexihone with lot of stone on a wire that some s***. use the 3 stoned hone( max 30 sek i eatch sylinder) remember the oilsquirtes, remoove them if there are some black spots in the upper level, use some sandpaper
use lots of soap and hot water to clean the block
you will have some piston noise if you got more than 12-15/ 100mm clarense between the piston and sylinder.... check out the pistons for cracks( spec the 3 and 4 sylinder) from oilsquirters hole in piston to the xpin... and have you mpre than 15/100 mm between the pistonrings and land in piston, the piston are gone... no compromice, do it properly, or leav it...
