Hi All, I have a misfire on no.3 cylinder on my ABY which through elimination I believe to be the coil. So I have decided to do the common upgrade to TSI coils. However, I do not currently use the standard POS as my ECU has built in coil drivers.
My question is, does anyone know if TSI coils, (with built in power stages) will be compatible or will I need to buy dumb coils.
Thanks.
Check your ECU documentation, only they can tell you. The ECU will need to output a 5v pulse to trigger the primary in the TFSi coil, modulated to control the dwell/charge time.
