    Girdle kit - too short studs?

    Bought a girdle kit with ARP fasteners from Fcp-Engineering.
    Upon assembly, i found that in order to mount the girdle, the studs only sit about halfway down into the threads, i.e about 7 threads deep. Emailed FCP and they said it’s no issue, should i stop worrying and just go with it, or get new 12.9 studs?

    So 7 threads would equate to around 10mm depth and factory sump bolts are 25mm and if you exclude the thickness of the sump & gasket then the bolts go in about 20mm, so if it was me I would get longer bolts.

      For clarification this is the kit;

      Part number GPS2ARPAudi 2.2T 20V support girdle kit including spacers and ARP studsAudi 200, S2, RS2, S4, S6 - 2.2 20V Turbo (3B, ABY, ADU, AAN)

      And the studs in question are the main studs, i.e the ones holding the crank caps. Quite weird how they can sell such a kit...

        Sorry I was thinking about the outer bolts. However if it's the endcap studs I would be even more concerned. measure how deep the OEM bolts go in then get correct length replacements. I would not take the risk personally, and you just know if something does go wrong fcp engineering won't take any responsibility.
