    Silicon hoses for 7A

    Guys,

Was hoping someone could help me, I'm looking for silicone hoses for my 7A engined CQ20V. I've found a few places making hoses for the S2, some of which will fit the 7A, but some are not quite the same...

So far my readings have got me to the point that:

Bottom radiator hose is the same for 7A, S2: 893121055C
Top radiator hose different between 7A: 853121101, and S2: 857121101B
Bottom of expansion bottle to radiator same for 7A, LHD S2: 893121109E
Head flange to heater 7A, and I think the same for S2: 893819371Q
    Water rail to heater 7A, S2: 855819375F

The short one between the water rail and the thermostat housing is 034121063C, and I believe the same throughout, and readily available in silicone and rubber, as is just a short, straight piece.

I've looked at the Roose kits for the S2, and while eye-wateringly expensive (IMHO) they do seem to carry the ones I need, except the top radiator hose, which due to the water manifold on an S2 vs the single outlet on the 7A is different. I guess my question on that specifically is whether anyone has tried fitting an S2 top hose to a 7A successfully? Is the offset too much, or is there an extra take off for the after-run coolant pump I'm not aware of?

Roose do a two-part kit, ancillaries and the main radiator hoses:

Audi S2 3B Ancillary hose kit by Roose Motorsport. Please note: All hoses will be supplied branded Roose Motorsport. Alternatively If your choice of colour is OE Matt Black the hoses will be supplied unbranded.

Audi S2 3B Coolant hose kit by Roose Motorsport. Please note: All hoses will be supplied branded Roose Motorsport. Alternatively If your choice of colour is OE Matt Black the hoses will be supplied unbranded.

But if they work, they work, I guess I could splash out...

do88.co.uk have some others, which look like they may not fit, but at this point I thought I'd get help from the hive mind that is this forum.

I guess the other option is whether there is another vehicle to look at for the top hose, e.g. one of the urQuattro engine variants, or one of the other 5 cylinder engines, anyone any ideas?

    Thanks guys

    Peter

Peter, I found Roose quite helpful when I spoke to them and they were able to offer me a solution. Maybe try giving them a call

Thanks both, will give Roose a ring and see what they could come up with.

and very useful to know (if not disappointing....) that the 7A/NM hose is unique.

Will come back with what I find out.
