Head gasket failure @ only 145k!

You're right m8..

Audi only supply a metal gasket for the 3B/ABY/ADU engines now. I checked the part number with Martyn/Paul (VagParts) and it was the same headset for all of them.

As a matter of note, the **AUDI** Genuine headset had Victor Reinz on most of the parts, incl. the head gasket

Does this mean that any and all gasket sets on the market that were recently produced, FROM ANY SOURCE, will have the metal headgasket? Or does it apply to the DEALER ONLY?

Actually, I found a source for the headgasket. It's the stronger rod bearings I'd like to find a nearby (AZ, USA?) source for.

Try VAG parts for these. I bought mine from there. See the conrod bearing posts
