    Broken 7a cam

so yester day i did a hard pull on first gear and just as the rev limiter kicked in and i was about to shift the car just losses power and dies no noise or knocking at all. my redline is at 7000rpm and i have original springs and retainers, i think i got a valve lift that knocked the cam i to pieces. any one have another theory?

You haven't had the cam cover off recently and and lost any nuts or washers by any chance?

Perhaps a hydraulic follower locked up? Very rare but can happen... Bloody bad luck though.

I'm guessing you're going to have a few bent valve's to sort out.

Glad to hear the valve escaped death, still sucks though, did you build the motor up yourself?

Maybe it was damaged at some point when mounted/dismantle. People have broken cams that way. Always tighten/losen the nuts in small steps. But yeah, bad luck may also be an alternativ.
