What's the point

In the second speed on the rad fan? Is it there just to stop your engine from totaly killing its self!....I mean how offten can a car run to that sort of temp without blowing the HG?.....Anyone?

Maybe not required in the temperate climate of the UK but I'm sure that a continental summer or worse would require both the 2nd speed and the aux. radiator! 40deg air temp would royally phook an S2, 30deg is bad enough in the UK!
