    Engine stand mounting

    Hello
After some advice, I've pulled my engine out today and went to mount on my engine stand but there is not enough clearance due to the flywheel.

Should I remove the flywheel, is that an easy job and does it need to go back in the same orientation?

Do I need to add spacers and use different bolts?

Any pics and advice of what people have done would be great.

    Cheers
    Simon

Pull the flywheel. It can only go back one way as the bolts only fit when its correctly aligned. Watch the timing pin. Protect it. You will be doing the rear main seal anyway so may as well get the flywheel off now. You will need new bolts. Same as Volvo from memory.

      All done.
Flywheel removed and engine on the stand. Now time to strip and clean and start sourcing all the parts for the rebuild....
