I've searched and search the forum regarding the installation of the longer barrelled Pierberg into the Audi S2. As many will know, this pump is the same diameter but considerably taller than the stock. The most I could fine was on one post where I read that this accommodated by simply holding it down into the basket with zip ties or similar. Wondering if there is a better way? And while I'm here, the fuel tank gasket seal PN 895919133 needs replacing but I can't find one for sale anywhere. Any ideas? TIA.

Use PN 1J0919133A for the fuel pump tank gasket seal. That number will open up a range of OE suppliers including Febi 107969, Ridex 143G0002 etc.
As for the pump, if you don't want to use zip ties, just use a standard size pump that will fit. The stock pump is fine unless you're trying to extract more than 250HP.

Thank you - very helpful. I'll follow up on that seal. Re the pump, I'm chasing 300hp or so. I already had the Pierberg so looking to use it I can.1994 ABY Audi S2 | 1991 CQ20V - gone | 350bhp built Subaru Forester - gone | 2013 Land Rover Discovery 4 SDV6Comment

Thanks for the info, Crasher. So am I correct in thinking replacing the stock S2 basket with this one will help accommodating the Pierberg? BTW, I just looked on Tradition but they appear to be out of stock.
Just saw your profile info - located in Nottingham. My home town.

That is the theory, I have a pump and basket here ready when I get the car back in. It was a modification we did a lot back in the late nineties/noughties as they were a pain for hot starting fuel line vapour lock as the standard system doesn't have a check valve.Comment

I managed to find one on Tradition, on its way. Coincidentally, I read through your entire Silver RS2 project again last night and aside other gems that will be useful as I get into the mechanical work, the section on removing the basket was very helpful. Along with your Nothelle 300 project, Error's CQ Tidy Up threads and other member's posts, these have been incredibly informative. Love your work, as the Aussies say.1994 ABY Audi S2 | 1991 CQ20V - gone | 350bhp built Subaru Forester - gone | 2013 Land Rover Discovery 4 SDV6Comment
