    Instrument Cluster Illumination Conundrum

ABY 2004 S2 Coupe - scratching my head on this one. Have looked through a variety of posts regarding dashboard illumination, relevant fuses, booster relay etc. Here's where I am at:

Got clock illumination, autocheck lights, on board computer, and warning lights.
Cluster dimmer control dims the clock so I assume that's working.
Don't have either heater control or instrument dial lights (no fuel, tacho, temp or fuel), although all these have worked previously
    Number plate light works.

Now, I have been rummaging around behind the centre console to remove it, carpets etc. Also installed a new head unit and boost gauge. Read a post where the addition of a boost gauge caused issues, so I cut power to that and still not working. I did change the auxiliary dial bulbs to LEDs - could this be the issue? What have I done? Am I missing something?

I wonder if you’ve cut the supply that links from the speedo across to the centre console for the lights. It would need checking against the wiring diagram’s but that’s likely a place to start
