Head gasket manual... anyone got one?

    Hi guys....
Am hoping someone somewhere would have the workshop manual...instructing on exactly how to change a head gasket, including torque figures and tightening order, etc...
Looks like I have to do mine, and there are no garages... I have a good toolkit and plenty of time (I just worry where I will take the head if it needs a skim). I am niot a mechanic but am pretty good at following instructons and have a reasonable general idea...
Any emailable or forum postable advice would be great... I have read as many threads as I can find, it doesn't seem too bad apart from seized bolts, etc, a thread from Doug was great, as it lists everything else which might be worth addressing at the same time...
    Anyway, thanks in advance....

    Hi

Your right m8 its not that bad a job to do, No where near as scary as it first looks when you open the hood ha ha.
Im trying to find all the info i have somewhere that i used, i have a diagram i used from autodata for the sequence that the hed bolts should be tightened as well if i can find it.

If not im sure someone else on here will have it as well.

The only other thing is to take time and do it right, the last thing you want is to rush and do something wrong and have it all to do again.

    Si
IF it aint broke DONT! fix it

Thanks, any useful data very gratefully received... A forum member is hopefully putting something into a PDF file for me, but not sure if it will get to me, so anything I can find would be superb...
I am sure, like most things mechanical, if you take your time, progress strategically (and with a bit of knowledge) it should be ok... I have enough spare time to be able to take a while to make sure everything is right... as you say, the last thing I want to do is mess it up...!
      Thanks

the most importent thing is to keep everything clean and make sure everything is torqued up in right order and right amount .take some pics so you remember where everything goes.

                Erwin

Audi 100 1991-1997 (4A) (AAN) engine mechanical manual is what you need
I followed the steps and carried out two head gasket + cambelt changes, one complete head rebuild without any problems All the specs and guidelines are in the manual so you can go wong

You need to register then pay (i think 17 euros) then it lasts for a year.

Or go onto the Erwin website and buy the official document like I did. I paid 18 euros for the 3b engine mechanical manual.
