How much can you machine of a 3b head

What is the most you can machine of a 3b cylinder head.the audi manual says 0.1mm , has anyone taken more than this of, or do's anyone know how much is safe to take of.

My understanding, after reading a huge amount on it.... is that you take as much as you need, but a little as absolutely possible as it raises the compression ratio... you are better lowering the ratio than raising it....
0.1 mm is quite alot in the whole scheme of things, but replacing with the RS2 headgasket will help, as it is a little thicker than the 3B paper one....
HTH, although doesnt give you an actual figure....
