Advantages of a Tial WG over audi orginal

I read on a post by another forum member that a tial wg gives better control over boost?

Can any one elibrate alittle or am i just being stupid???

Would i see any gains using one along side a GT3071R

Also i guess the size of the WG would be a factor to consider

Bigger is NOT better when it comes to wastegates, the proper size wastegate will give the best in control and tuning resolution, remember, the wastegate diverts exh pressure and flow around the turbo, not through it, the more boost you run, the more flow is going through the turbo, not around it, and the less WG is needed.

When I run 36psi with the GT40R I could probably get away with a 10mm wastegate as 90% of the wastegate signal is being bled off.

The smaller the wastegate the finer resolution of control you have over it, and the smother you can make your pressure transitions.

The only time you need to go bigger is if you have to keep the WG open to stay out of surging, or your running into boost creep and the current WG just can't flow enough exhaust gasses around the turbo to slow it down.

If you go too big you'll find it hard to keep the boost levels stable w/o lots of weird pressure spikes and dips.
Your 30mm audi WG is plenty good enough for a 3071R
