What temp. does oil start to smoke at?

I'm asking 'cos with my crankcase breather venting to the outside (via a fiter, green pc and all that!) once the engine is up to temp., oil at 90-100 degress C i'm getting a little smoke coming from the filter. Makes me think the oil is actually hotter?

Water temp. seems fine.

Where can i measure what the oil temp. really is?

Should i change to a semi synth. ground nut oil or add an aux. oil cooler?

Or just stop worrying!

the oil may get 140 degrees, and it will come soem smoke, if you drive highway(110+km/hour) the oil get warmer than that( external oilcooler are a must)
