I've had an annoying rattle, really noticable on idle coming from the fornt of the car for a while now, actually thought it was a worn cam chain or power steering pump. After a good root around yesterday solved it....lower alternator bracket bolt was loose 
Tightened it up and finally sounds like it should.
If you have a similar prob check the bolt which is at the front (sat between the IC) of the lower bracket...hopefully will cure it.
