RS2 intercooler capabilities

what are the capabilites of this intercooler?Some say it is good for more than 450Hp
some say even more than that!
any varified opinions??

summer temps up to 35 deg. celcius and winter from 0 to 15 deg.celcius

Up for this very intersting question. Anyone an idea for how much HP the RS2 intercooler is good on a normal day?

There is not just the ambient temp to consider but how far you are pushing the envelope of a given turbo, if you try and make 450hp from a turbo that can only just make 450 it will likely be in a part of the map that is well down on efficiency and up on air temp.
In this scenario you may make 450hp for 20 seconds then once the intercooler cant dissipate the excess heat the hp would drop off.
I would guess it would make 450 ok with a big ish turbo and no to high a ambient temp, hopefully a few people can ad there experiences around this hp with the rs2 intercooler.

Yes, I made around 450 crank HP on a RS2 IC in my setup. That was end Oct 2008 on a very good cooled rolling road and ambient temps of +10 degrees Celcius. I run a OEM S2 bumper in front of the IC and no additional water spraying or such gadgets.

Still I think the RS2 IC is really on it's limits with the GT3071R when pushed hard, so that's why I will be upgrading to a Wagner IC in the coming months, so I can have all horses available in the summer as well :mischeif:

why im wondering this is i have placed an 630x300x76 intercooler but i cant get my bumper fitted properly on my 90Q. So now i found an intercooler with core sizes 550x230x65 which is a little large than the Rs2 intercooler. As im aiminig for some where about 450 HP i was woundering what is capable with the rs2 intercooler. If 450 HP is capable with the RS2 intercooler it should also be capable with the intercooler im looking at and my bumper wil probably fitt with this intercooler.
