Fuse 28, 24 and 26 ?????

Hi guys,

Right are you ready.

On my old loom the solid blue wire out of fuse 24 and 28 were tabbed together and ran off a switch which had a permenant live!!!!!

They do go together but where do they plug into, the new loom I have has them connected together with what ia a black connector......

Also fuse 26 has a grey/yellow wire coming off it (may be the wrong colour as I can't fully remember and it is now dark outside) This also has a connector on it in white with just the one wire going in to it????

Where do they both plug in?????

If you mean the 2 green and black wires which supply the power to fuses 24 and 28 then they should be joined together and connected to terminal 87a on the fusebox, the best picture I have of the fusebox terminals is the one below but I have tried to show where the terminal is.



A lot of the wiring diagrams are here I am only going on what they show really.

Fuse 26 appears to be for a trailer looking at this but that doesn't really fit with your description so maybe it is different on your loom.

Will have another look for the colours but I am sure that they are def blue which come off those fuses, the other wires are connected.......

The wires from the other side of the fuses are blue/red for fuse 24 and blue/black for fuse 28. The blue/red one goes to a number of different things such as the isv. The blue/black one goes to the injectors and MAF. If you are saying these 2 wires are connected then I don't believe this should be the case.

right this is the connector of fuse 24 and 28,

This is the way I got the loom.

On my old look these two wires were sent to a power switch. Whent eh switch was off the car would not start (would turn over but not fire), the afterrun pump and afterrun fan would also not work!!!!!!
With teh switch on everything worked but the battery drained (probably as it was connected to a permanant live from the cig lighter). At a guess these should go to a timed realy or something???? Wether it is on teh fusebox or not I don't know.....



This is the one which comes off fuse 26..... On the old loom it wasn't connected to anything either but juast wanted to check......



and just to check again, these are the VAG COM leads????

In the second pic you can see fuse 28 and 24, 1st on teh left and 2nd from teh right. Th wire colours are

fuse 28 - black and blue, solid blue
fuse 24 - Blue and red, solid blue.

It is the solid blue ones that come together in the first picture with the black connector.

The wire from fuse 26 is green and grey as you can see form the pic and is a single wire

Right if I have figured it right form waht you have said matey, the two solid blue wires I have are the same as the two Green/grey wires you mention so there fore should go to where you have stated on the fuse board, well can only try.....

Looking at the pictures it would seem that the blue wires are the same as the green/black wires shown on the wiring diagrams. I'm not really sure why the colours would be different but as everything else seems to fit with what the wiring diagrams show I would think that the single black connector should go to terminal 87a. It shouldn't go to a switch like it did before, the after run pump is on one of those fuses so that does make sense that the switch stopped it from working and also that the car would not start. Terminal 87a is fed by the fuel pump relay so fuses 24 and 28 should only receive power when the ignition is on.

Looking at the colour of the wires on fuse 26 in the picture it seems to fit with fuse 25 on the wiring diagrams, this is for the lambda sensor heating and should be connected to terminal O if this is the case.
