Misfire When Hot 1991 S2 Turbo

Has anyone any ideas here
Driving my 1991 S2 yesterday, gave it what for in 3rd gear up to 80mph ish and it developed a misfire, until then it was going well but then felt as if the car had gone onto four cylinders????

This does not happen when the weather is cold, only when the Temperature goes up??

I have a cone filter fitted, could it be sucking too much hot air?? or could it be a fueling/ Boost Problem??

Any ideas would be appreciated

Take it of and fit the airbox

If you refit the airbox and it cures the problem, you know what is wrong...
There is nothing wrong with running a cone, as long as you do 2 major things...
1...you really really really need some kind of effective heatshielding
2...ideally you need to get cold air in to the filter area...

I had a few problems with mine, but I managed to make an aluminium part airbox / heatshield, with some 3 inch aluminium ducting coming from the front lower part of the bumper, also I removed the rubber bonnet seal above the headlight on that side of the car and put a plate in to direct what air comes in through the hadlight area towards the filter...

Its alot of messing around, but does allow you to keep the sound without a loss in performance from hot air intake and heat soak...

My cone has no problems in the heat, although i do suffer from heat soak on town / built up areas.

What fuel are you using in the car?
