Rally Car - Air Flow Meter or Throttle Position Sensor?

This is a long ongoing problem and I'm looking to get it sorted!
This is the latest situation with the car after it stopped in stage and then struggled to get out of the stage but we did finish the event!
As I said the car just stopped in stage as if someone had turned the ignition key off.
I have now managed to get it started on all 5 cylinders but with the Air Flow Meter (MAF) removed from the air flow but still have the cable connected. It does run but not as well when the cable is unplugged from the meter.
Has it been known for total failure, including none starting if the MAF fails?
Anybody in the Stockport area got a spare 034 133 471K? (MAF) to loan me to check it out?
....or is it the Throttle Position Sensor?
Does anyone have links to the pins on the Throttle Position Sensor? so this can be checked as an option?
    All help appreciatted.
