Rattly s2

I have a rattle coming from the engine/gearbox area of the avant when driving.
It only happens when you de-clutch as the engine speed drops.
This did not happen when I first bought the car, but started shortly afterwards.
It's a metallic tinny sort of rattle............anyone any thought as to what it might be????

Does it go away when you press the clutch?? Maybe release bearing.

may be its the prop, mine has a rattling when u get under neath and turn prop back and forward the prop has a metalic noise like something inside it only does it when its not under load

No the noise is only there on the overrun, only for a short period as you de-clutch.
The previous owner changed the gearbox just before I got the car, with a new clutch and release bearing, so I am assuming this to be o.k.

Worn engine mounts causing the front of the sump to slightly touch the subframe?
Easy to spot with the undertray off.

my exhaust sheild at the bottom of the down pipe had this rattle at certain engine
revs .
