Definatly after, best would be in each of the runners so you get even distribution... are you going for a wet or dry system (wet is best by far!) and who manufactures it NOS by chance??

P.S is this to get the upper hand on Doug? if I'd known your plans then I would have put my money on you

so the plan is *if* you dont win cos the engine lets go that at least the conrod will be somewhere in the next county

What kind of extra boost are you looking to inject, 100bhp?

      Good luck

I'll just be sure to stand at the start line then - much safer...

I remember reading all about the ins and outs of nos at a website called wizardofnos.com of thereabouts. They sold their own systems too, and had some rather impressive cars using them.

I was wondering how long it would take for the NOS to get deployed There is an A4 in performanceVW (Loads of poke but no brakes! ) this month with a 100 shot and it has the nozzles on the inlet runners. You didn't get the idea from that did you Tom?

On "normal" systems, the nitrous injectors have to be partnered by additonal fuel injectors ...but in this instance, can a modified map be employed to add fueling in the stock location?

              I'm just an interested bystander!

                LMAO, at all the comments

This is only an "idea" at the moment, but the plan is to possibly fit maybe 100 shot of nos

I saw the A4 with stock brakes! Muppet! LOL

Its a simple nos kit, single fogger nozzle, made by cold fusion, with progressive controller.

Cant decide if i want to fit it

I believe my car had nos fitted at some point, still got the arming switch and "attack button" fitted.
I think it was just a single injector into the IM. Though dont hold me to it. I will try and see if i can dig up some info in the history of the car this weekend.

I used a wizard of nos on my 90 quattro for years with no ill effects
I've still got the kit with 1/2 bottle of gas just hanging about in the garage gathering dust just never got round to fitting it on anything else and now dont think i need it that much and i'll prolly just bend mi rods if i did fit it .

the kit uses whats called a viper nozzle that fits in the inlet pipe to mix the nitrous and fuel theres a T piece to connect to the fuel 2 solenoids then u just need a switch to turn it on and a microswitch to activate it on full throttle takes a couple of hours to fit

but that aside go for it tom

I've got an old 1.9D (NA) Clio here that's begging to die... my mum wants to scrap it but I'm sure it can be used for something! Would be intrigued to see how much NOS it takes before it blows up

LMAO, you will need a dry kit to kill that

I only have a wet kit.

BTW, im not doing this to 'beat' doug, I want to see what nos is like as a way of anti-lag, cos i got loads of it!

Im thinking a subtle 25 shot at 3k revs might be just enough to get rid of 1000rpm of lag, which would make 1/4 starts a lot better. The car will bog down if you dont launch at 7k, then you have the problem of trying to stop wheel spin.
This is why the progressive controller might be of benefit as i can dial out the nos after just a few secs.

I think the car would need to be mapped for any really high NOS injections, as the timing would be too far advanced, and the "knock map" is set very low, so i know if there are any probs.

You should've gone with a standalone ecu system, some I know of come with launch control and anti lag and are capable of driving other systems.

With the NOS your gonna have a blast if you get it working right.
