standalone wasnt an option on this car. I wanted to prove to the "experts" that stock managment CAN be tuned for high powered cars.

Most of those companies that sell aftermarket ECU systems claim that the stock ECU cant produce the power.

Having said that, the next project will have 034 on it i hope. I dont need to prove it any longer, and i want less lag!

              Tom,

I fully agree with what you say, Motronic (in the right hands) can be tuned to very good results, the benefits of standalone though allow none Motronic cars to also be capable of the same benefits and is also an alternative to none COP Motronic systems.
Some standalone systems allow the end user the option to tune the car themselves, something which Motronic can't do.

We don't say anything bad against the stock ecu (heck we use it ourselves if the application demands it) just merely offer another choice (should the application demand it).

Now back OT and go fit that NOS

Sorry to bring an old thread up, Just wondered if anyone had actual info/proof that nos does work/work well on one of these set ups.

There was a dark green s2 on pistonheads about a year ago that had it so I know people have tried it (iirc had black leather and on rs4 alloys and was pictured on a race track)

I am seriously tempted to have this as an end product on my car mostly just for a bit of fun but don't want to do too much damage with it, as mentioned above what would be the best set up, only looking to get something like 50bhp from it for a laugh and to get the gauge sitting in my car actually working.

Greenm3 - any luck in ever finding out anymore info and where abouts was it fitted in?

I have been reading up about a few non audi cars with it plumbed into the im and having individual cylinder setups with progressive controllers and getting some stupid amounts of power increase because you can set it up for each cylinder which helps.

edit : - think the car I was talking about is mentioned in this thread http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthr...&highlight=nos

has anyone seen this car in person - possibly greg or know anymore info.

My brother keeps threatening to fit NOS to my RS2 , only 25bhp to keep the inlet temps down but would still make a good difference in this weather. He stuck 150bhp on a Ferrari 355 before, that thing was dangerous! :mischeif:

Where abouts would he fit the system in?

and where would you have him mount the bottle?

bottle idealy needs to go in the boot, you can fit the injectors before or after tb,you will need a good fuel feed, any bodged fittings can be hazardous to say the least, dont go too mad with injector sizes to begin with as you could run lean and detonate

We had thought about direct port with piggyback injectors, but the cost is high so probably go single point injection and depending on available space decide if it would go before or after the TB. He's currently fitting a direct port setup on his XE16v motor in his Toyota.

Bottle I'd stick in the boot, nice blue to match the car.

I am in mixed views about where i'd put the bottle, was tempted to put it in the pocket at the rear if I could get a small one to mount in there (would not want to use it all the time just every once in a while) problem is if like most of the cars here I got rear ended.

Have been tempted to have it behind one of the front seats for easy switch on.

@jamo - nice video I ain't going as mental as what I think those guys did

If you got rear ended enough to damage a NOS bottle that badly, I think it would be the last thing on your mind You can fit a remote bottle valve if needed, but most people are happy just turning the bottle on before they make a journey and have the arming switch near the driver.
