    Exhaust manifold options

Guys what options are there for replacement exhaust manifolds capable of high BHP for an S2?

I currently have an RS2 manifold which has been ceramic coated but I believe the limit of this is around 450 bhp.

There seems to be a raft of tubular manifolds but all seem to suffer from cracking although I've been told they must be adequately supported and the downpipe have a flexpipe to prevent this?

I'm going to need a T3 flange on the EM so i've discounted a few EM unless I cut the flange of a SQ manifold, shame as I would have bought Aron's one he had for sale.

      Who can recommend their EM?

I see AndersS2 has a Furan one but it's too far foward in the car.

Depends on whether you want the durability of cast iron or not. Might be worth hanging on till the 034/Wagner Sport replica is released. Assuming you are going with a Garrett flange.
On the other hand there are loads of tubular options, varying in design and quality and price! As long as some thought is given to supporting it, shouldn't be too much of a problem. Also easier to repair than cast.

Andres had to use his "Cobrahead" solution as the Furan manifold places the turbo inlet closer to the slam panel / head lights.

Cheers for the advice, yes the turbo has a garrett flange.

Most are made from 304 SS this embrittles at sustained high temp, 321 SS is a better material for manifolds, slip joints or short runners plus turbo supports help against cracking.

Aelred says the S1 manifold is the best... I should have bought his EVO S1 manifold

I am having the same problems as you Jamo finding a 'good' manifold!!

If you find one let me know

I have my eye on the 034 one TBH but no-one on the forum uses one UK side that I know off and it's on the high edge of price range I'm looking at.

Having seen Mark H's manifold, i opted for the Repo one pictured above (albeit not the shiney versin seen). The manifold flows very well - almost too well. When fitted I suddenly discovered lag. A decent re-map would have probably sorted it out but decided to upgrade at samr time. So still have lag, but a much faster car
Overall I would highly recommend this EM and Jyrki is prepared to help any way he can should you encounter any problems.
                              Cheers
