mark H has something a bit different. With better bearings etc to it spools up quicker too.

      Timucin,

as Greg has said, I am using a Turbonetics/Garrett turbo and I am very happy with it, it has the Turbonetics option of ceramic ball bearings which considerably quickens the spool up time compared to conventional bearings, although I can't comment on how long they will last as I have only had the turbo on the for about eight months or so.
The nice thing about these are that you can 'design' the turbo tailored to your needs as there are many different compressor trims and the compressor maps are available. I am using the 57 trim compressor with a large turbine, (63mm exducer) and I couldn't be happier with it.
I would suggest speaking to someone who has a good understanding of compressor maps like Marco (I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning him ), he is very good and would be able to suggest suitable compressor/turbine combinations based upon your needs and the trims available.
I went with the Turbonetics turbo because they make their own copies of the KKK hot side housing (I have their K26 #8) so that their turbos will fit straight onto the Audi manifold, this obviously makes life a lot easier. Although I doubt that they did it for Audi owners, more likely it is because there are a lot of Porsche owners, particularly racers, in the US where Turbonetics are based and by making their own KKK compatable hotsides it gives Porsche owners another choice to KKK.

If you havent already, have a look on the excellent Audi20V Kruemmer list on Yahoo and do a search on Garrett or Turbonetics as there is more info on this subject there, and I made my choice of turbo based upon questions that I asked there when I, like you, was trying to choose what to do and go for.

One thing that I found is whenever you talk to someone whos sells turbos, is that theirs is always the best , which can make life a bit hard when trying to choose, also bear in mind that I have not used a large KKK, so I dont know what they are like, hopefully someone here can tell you.

      All the best,

      Mark.

Timucin - I have the K26/27/29 turbo and I have been in Marks car - his spools up lower and quicker - it feels brutal - but I don't think my turbo is that far behind and you still get the grin factor when it kicks - I got mine as it is relatively cheap (from Mihnea) and I am not scared of lag(it is called a racing turbo) - Last week while it was running (only 20psi) but it was full boost in the low 4k rpm and you can keep it on boost throughout the gearchanges.
