    boost pressures

Just fitted my boost gauge and took the car out let it warm up a bit then gave it a bit aof a thrash and i noticed that when accelerating that the boost will peak between 0.8 and 1 bar and sometimes drop a little 2 about 0.6 its only really when im reving it over 4500rpm it starts to do it

If i have it in a higher gear and let it spool up it will peak just over a 1bar and be ok

car feels like it is goin fine but oviously not

Sounds normal to me dan. you should get just over 1bar on "overboost" at high load. That lasts for 10secs i think, then boost will drop down as the revs get higher, by the time you are at 6-7k rpm the boost is probably 0.5-0.6.

Can somebody with stock car confirm this? Been a while for me now

sounds right to me too, from what I can remember.
I deffo recommend a Paul Nugent homefry though, then you will boost to 1.4 bar
followed by boost leak as your old hoses give up with the extra pressure followed by another Nugent purchase - samco's and then all will be ok with the world once again.....ah......

Yup, sounds right for an ABY. I get 1.15 - 1.2 BAR on overboost, which I only get if I stamp on the throttle, but not if I ease the throttle down when I get about 1 bar.

One thing I noticed recently, is if I drive up a steep hill at around 2K RPM and boot it, whilst riding the brakes with my left foot (quite hard), then I seem to get SUPER over-boost..... i.e. I get around 1.25 - 1.3 BAR and it holds it for longer and higher into the revs before dropping down....strange eh?

            Cheers n

Mine will do this too. I suppose it's the ecu trying to get the car to speed up. Input from engine speed sensor is telling it it's under load, input from the vehicle speed sensor is telling it it's not traveling at warp speed and input from maf is also giving indication that it's not gulping air at a fast rate, well until the turbo boosts hard.
Thats the way I understand it, could be wrong and means my car is shagged
