Iv broken it.......but ist ok!

Yesterday i finnished work and i was on the way home when i over took a caravan and i lost all power, the car would just not pull at all (looking back the performance has been off for the last couple of days and i was gonna have a look today anyway).

I knew straight away it was the idler or diverter pulley when it went because it happened on my fathers 2.8 V6 a few years back, so i pulled over got my tool kit out the back and pulled the cambelt couver off, sure as hell the cambelt is loose, i could have pulled it off with my fingers!

So i called the AA , the guy turned up in about 1 hr 30min whch aint too bad when your in betws-y-coed (N.Wales), he offered start her and have a look but i told him what the deal was so he just gigled as sed i wouldent want to be doing that then!

Got me towed home and now i have orders some bits............wel actually well over a grand's worth!

JE pistons, H-beam rods, water pump, idler and tensioner pulley, cambelt etc..........

Ye i know, but i wanted to do all this to the engine any way because im at 145000 miles now anyway and i wanted to push more bhp, so in a way its a good? thing that it happened any way, im probably thinking of 380bhp ish (RS2 turbo etc) but i really fancy a Garret GT30R to be honest, so that will more or less be around 500bhp then ah well cant comlain eh! lol

The only bad thing so far that i can see is my insurance premiums are going to go up quite a bit, so i think ill call them before i get too caried away!
