Its not ideal if your still using the stock ECU as every bit of ait is metered into the engine, so as ours recircs the air none of the metered air is lost, if you do put in a BOV open to atmosphere then you will be allowing metered air to escape which can have the same effect as a massive boost leak.

Strange that mine works perfectly with no fault codes or missfires like "a massive boost leak"

Same here i use the TurboXS type H-RFL, it's really fukin loud (it's what it actually stands for) it runs at a massive +150db and can be heard about 2 miles off!!! (a military jet taking off and then using full afer burners is 130db).

I have no problems at all regarding the BOV, the car nearley stalled after the first dump, but after that the ECU learnt the difference.

I think the big problem some S2 owners have is that is sound 'boi racerish' i dont think it dose and i will keep on using it!

OK, my mistake, why have a metered air system if your going to dump a substantial amount of air out of the system??

In my opinion you still loose un metered air even when you use a recurcilating dv, because you dont have any type of 1 way system on air box's or cone filter's and the air flow meter only reads 1 way flow. when i changed my box for a s.steel woven cone you could feel the air being foced out when you pulled off and didnt open the trottle straight away!
