Im having the same problem as alot of others, ie low charge voltage and also battery being drained when engine switched off which is I presume the diodes broken down and allowing the alternator to act like a motor and drain the battery .
Im not going to bother trying to repair mine as its 13 years old and fixing could be false ecconomy.
what I would like to know is with the s2 deing fairly rare what other Vag group cars have the same alternator so I can look further afield. ??
