Heya
Have anyone had a leak in this white cap that sits over the fuelpump? The cap that the fuel gauge sender is mounted to.
I noticed that the cap was full of fuel this winter when I was about to change the fuelpump. I thought it might just have been the gasket/rubber seal that sits between the tank and the cap. I replaced it and assembled it all. But just from standing still it leaks up through the cap. The car have been standing still for two weeks and it's a pond of gasoline in the cap again.
I have looked at it closely but have not seen any cracks, will look closer tomorrow. So the only place that I can think of where the fumes can get through is where the pin's for the connector goes through the lid. And when they get through there they hit the connector and returns to it's fluid state. I guess...?
Have anyone had a similar leak? Dunno what to do other then by a new cap with the sender unit. Thnk it goes for around 60 EUR.
Not cheap but hell... If it works i'll guess it's worth it.
A little(?) picture of the mess...
