Safe rev limit on a stroker

Anyone know the safe rev limit for a 2.5 stroker running dry sump, JE pistons, lightened and balanced crank and titanium rods etc??

Theoretically it is 7k, you could take it to 7.3-7.5k but I wouldn't take any higher

    Dry sump or not.

Pisobiker has a thread with the calculation on. ( search for stroker and it's not the sticky thread think it's called stroker or not stroker )

What length rods 156mm or 159mm?

I'm going to be using the standard 7.3k limit but wont go above 7k

Thought you might have an answer lol

7500rpm at a push isnt enough for me want 8000rpm!

Might stick to the 2.2L or put in the 034 crank for 2.45L and rev it to hell.. 9000rpm

8K rpm is more like it. Thats a tall block 95.5mm stroke with a 1.65:1 rod ratio keeping you arround the safe maximum of 25m/second piston speed.

Stroker wont go that high tall block or not mate not. Spoken to a few people over the stroker rev limit.

That is not a good idea... To use the stroker crank in the standard block, you are going to have to use shorter rods then is ideal. You'd probaby end up using something around 144mm (the stock length for the 86.4mm stroke). The key to engine longevity at elevated horsepower is a good rod...

Jay the 92.8 crank will only rev to 7500 read the thread on motorgeeks

no prob to rev it 8 k with dieselcrank( you does not have over 25m/s pistonspeed either).... BUT with 8 k i will rekomend drysump and mek pushers for the cam....
if you have the 92,8 crank it will be 8500 max limit with 25m/ s.....

Its all about rod ratio and average piston spped. Its only simple physics. 25m/s is arround the max you want and 8K rpm with a 95.5 mm stroke just passes. You do need the tall block and longer rods. The longer 158mm rods keeps the same rod ratio as a stock aan etc engine.... All the info on the first motor geek thread is for shprth 144mm rods and short blocks.

It depends what kind of Stroker.
As the Enthousiast before me said, it depends! Tell us what crankshaft and what rod length.

Nothing been bought, so you can tell me what rods, crank and block combo would push the rev limit but minimise bearing/piston/ring pressures

i would stay std, but modified bottom end, with dry sump, solid lifters and then rev it to 8.5k. ideal for larger turbos like the gt35/40r or bigger

7A botom end, 92.8 crank, bore to 82.75 and mechanical top end. But i am biased.:mischeif:
