Right getting through everything but having a problem with the camshafts when i put the bearings on it is locking the camshaft ...have oiled them when putting in and tightened them up in order of inside out .....when i slacken them slightly it turns but i am not tightening them to tight to start with so puzzled??......
Hmm...
Just looked at the RR head i have as a door stop in the conservatory and if looking from the exhaust side of the head, the numbers on the caps are upside down. So from the inlet side they should be right way up if that makes sense!
twoqu's right. Of course. The numbers should read right from the inlet side. It's the end cap on the inlet cam at the pulley end that can be confusing.
The caps should stay with the head they were align bored/honed with. Swapping camshafts is no problem. It's the same with the block and main bearing caps.
